The ability of water to float your body, or buoyancy, can help your child move their body when it is difficult to move on land. Strength is improved by moving against the resistance of the dense water.
Pool therapy can also improve breathing, endurance, and posture.
Deep, warm pressure from the swimming pool can decrease muscle stiffness or spasticity, and calm a child with sensory integration deficits.
