Dr. Lionel Enns

Licensed Psychologist
Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Dr. Enns is one of only ten providers in the state of Washington who is both a clinical psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. While obtaining his graduate degrees at the University of Washington, Dr. Enns trained at the Experimental Education Unit. His work at the EEU included both assessment and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, including a social skills group and intensive Incredible Years Dinosaur School treatment groups. Working with the wonderful staff at the EEU fueled Dr. Enns's passion for working with children with disabilities.

While completing his studies at the University of Washington, Dr. Enns also completed a six-month practicum at Children's Hospital Autism Center, working with children with severe and profound disabilities. To gain certification as a licensed child psychologist, Dr. Enns spent a yearlong clinical internship at Lifespan Psychological Services on Bainbridge Island. During this intensive training year, Dr. Enns completed assessment and treatment work with both children with disabilities and children with psychological challenges.

Dr. Enns believes that families struggling with the multitude of challenges generated by autism and other psychological challenges benefit from a thoughtful, integrated approach to their unique needs. Dr. Enns performs complete psychological and psycho-educational assessments, including autism evaluations. His professional interests include psycho-educational and autism assessment, parent training, behavior analysis, and family therapy. Dr. Enns has a vague memory of having hobbies prior to having children, but that former life has been consumed by his daughters. He attends soccer and ultimate games with his middle school-aged daughter, Mac, and explores the neighborhood with his irrepressible (and exhausting) preschooler, Tallulah. They have also been known to visit Top Pot Doughnuts on Saturday mornings.
