Kat earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Master's degree in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. Beginning her career in Chicago, she employed cognitive behavioral therapy with children, teens, and adults exhibiting behavioral, learning, anxiety, mood and personality disorders as well as addiction. She also provided parent skills training and lead group prevention and skill building programs. She went on to create and implement programming for schools and non-profits in Northern Virginia and Cincinnati focusing on emotional learning and twenty first century skill development for alternative learners. In addition to her work with MOSAIC/Blueprints, Kat volunteers regularly with two Seattle youth organizations.
