Clinical Lead Speech Language Pathologist

Melissa received her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University in Illinois in 2009 and then completed her clinical fellowship year (CFY) at the top rehabilitation hospital in the country, within the pediatric outpatient and inpatient departments. She has worked with the pediatric population in a variety of settings including private and public schools, clinics, home and community-based therapy. While working at a large hospital in St. Louis, Melissa had the opportunity to help develop and work within an intensive early intervention classroom for children with Autism, based on the principles of the Early Start Denver Model, which she has been Level 1 trained. Melissa has also completed a course to become PROMPT trained.

Melissa's professional interests include Autism Spectrum Disorders, acquired cognitive-communication impairments, feeding and swallowing disorders, fluency and stuttering.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys exploring new sites and restaurants and going on adventures with her family, friends, and dog Charlie. She also enjoys traveling, sailing, board games, and hiking.
